The aim is to have young people actively involved in culture. After an introduction in detail the first days will be focused on the Victorian Arts Festival, which is based on the Steampunk movement (literally a victorian-style, sci-fi fashion and literature-based new scene) and fashion of the 19th century. Helping hands are needed to prepare the house and the garden for the festival. The main tasks will be spring-cleaning and decorating. During the festival (11-12 June 2016) the volunteers may take part in the cultural program (decorating, helping hands, maybe performing). The program of the festival consists of various show-acts, workshops and readings. The following time the participants will work in the manor. They will help out with the necessary tasks that have to be done – like helping in the garden or maybe painting. The exact tasks will vary and volunteers are expected to be flexible in the work they do and be prepared to participate actively in all tasks. At the end of the camp Vogelang is part of a castle-night (www.mittsommer-remise.de) All participants will be engaged in the organisation of the presantation of different manors during the evening of the 18th June.

The manor Vogelsang is located between the natural parks ‘Mecklenburger-Schweiz’ and ‘Kummerrower See’, in the heart of Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania - the north-eastern part of Germany.

The workcamp NIG02 Vogelsang is from 06.06. to 21.06.2016.
